On their sophomore album "VIOLENCE, DRUGS AND LOVE" the Gothenburg, Sweden collective, WE ARE WOOD, set their sights on psychedelic elation and sonic rumination. From the moment the feedback squalls and acoustic chords ring out on the opening title track, WE ARE WOOD, are welcoming you to their hallucinatory journey. Through the albums eight head-nodding and mind-expanding grooves densely layered guitars, keyboards, and vocals wash over the record like a warm cocoon. Many songs devolve into kaleidoscopic jams as the guitars and percussion wail through every fiber of your being. Themes of spiritual soul searching, loving lament, and psychedelic drug ingestion permeate through every track and album closer "Linger On" reaches a crescendo sure to leave you in ecstasy. You'll be turning the record over to start all over again after the last note subsides. It's clear that we are witnessing the birth of a true psychedelic classic
